Mrs. Pumpkin's Comical Dream English Lyrics

Jacaranda flowered
At a party where we both drank
Where shall we go now?
A sad song I happily sang

Jack gave a sly grin
"Put off those heretical thoughts"
Chocolates I need them
Humbly, I sang a song

Scarecrow fell as he come
Chokingly he swung by
Though he hasn't had some
He hates pumpkin pie

Hey

Lalulalula
Shall we dance together?
Mister moon is still slumbering tonight (Did you call me? said a turnip head.)
See? The coffin I was in now no longer is here!
Our world has no sunlight! (La balula la happy day!)

We sense fabricated
Magic at a transmission spire
Beneath the bridge a witch had
Appeared to be quite wired

Jack said so smugly
"Continue with these vulgar thoughts"
The devil's horn bloomed largely
As if it were distraught

The goat is plotting something mischievous ("Come now accept it, come now accept it")
"Come now accept it, come now accept it"
While waiting for the train ("Come now accept it, come now accept it")

Why don't we hold hands?
For only two are allowed
The ride takes us through the subway land (Passive power a pile of corpses?)
To the market of ants that number in crowds
Mister moon is still slumbering tonight

Intermission

Ah! Mrs. Pumpkin
I've come to pick you up!
When did this night
Destroy the dream that you thought of?
Aaaahh...
Aaaahh...
Aaaahh...

Still I want again
To keep this dancing alive!
Let my distracted dreams be retained (Passive Passive full of idiots.)
With pleasure spewing out
The lantern blaze did rise
Lalulalula
La balula la happy day!

Hey

Lalulalula
Shall we dance together?
No chance of getting an answer ("Pity! A shame!" said the turnip head.)
See? The coffin I was in now no longer exists!
What a dull world we're in!

I felt disheartened in this muck
I waited for morning in the bushes

Within the train.

Ah Mrs. Pumpkin...
Ah Mrs. Pumpkin...

This song is by Hachi, if you know any of his songs, he loves obscure stories. This one is about a woman who is hallucinating between life and death when she is hurt in a subway train crash. She likes this in-between life and death and wants to stay there, but in the end, she chooses life, and wakes up on the scene of the crash.

Symbols
Jack: Death
Goat: Devil
Devil's Horn: Train Whistle
Moon: Her consciousness
Dazed Witch: Impaired driver that caused the train crash
Ants: Living people

There are a bunch of other symbols, but I need to do more analysis on the song.

I DO NOT OWN THE IMAGE. THE IMAGE IS CREDITED TO HACHI

Oh yeah, I forgot! Also, If Jack and Mrs. Pumpkin are truly one, that also would explain why her name is Mrs. Pumpkin bit she doesn't wear a wedding ring.Love I love this song way too much!

I have a different theory. What if it really is a dream? What if she's drunk so she passes out on the train, dreams of committing suicide, then, when she sings "within the train", she wakes up and realizes she's still on the train and is fine. Actually, I don't think Jack exists. I think he's her conscience. Why? Well, suicide could be considered "heretical" and the drunker she gets (even within the dream) the nicer the idea sounds even to him. I agree with Petit-Hibou, as well. He says he hates pumpkin pie without having tried any because, although he himself comited suicide, he doesn't want Mrs. Pumpkin to die because there really is no reason for her to die and he knows that, when it comes to the mixture of Jack and alcohol, things don't usually end well. He seems not to have thought twice about committing suicide and maybe he regrets it now. The reason I say she has no reason is because she's clearly not depressed. She left a PARTY to go to the train station, after all. The devil tries to take advantage of her drunkeness and convince her to comit suicide so he might have had a part in convincing Jack as well. The scarecrow is calling them (and himself) idiots because they fell for the devil's trick. Also, " I feel dishearted sitting in this muck" might mean she actually DID get hit by the train before she woke up and "When did this night destroy the dream that you thought of" might be referring to how dark the dream became when Jack changed his mind. Still I can't explain what she means when she says that the coffin she was in no longer exists. Any help? (I know it's my favorite song but I wrote way too much and it's all over the place! Sorry! Thanks to those who read it in it's entirety, though.)Hug

Why, thank you for clarifying. I suspected that this song was seriously dark, although I didn't know how. They mention "coffin" a lot, and "This is a boring world". If there was angst in this, I'd totally love this more than I do now.

I kind of think the Scarecrow is warning her a bit...
That's just an idea of mine. XD
Anyway, this is very good. Very clear. Nicely done.~

What does the pumpkin symbolize?

Wow. This is the clearest interpretation I've heard. I love it!

Thanks! I'm glad you've found the lyrics helpful.

You mean Mr. Jack? I think he symbolizes her yearning for death. As for the Pumpkin in Mrs. Pumpkin herself, well, suppose that may tie in with Jack, but it's probably also for the Halloween festive thing.
